In memory of Ken Howard RA (1932-2022)

Ken Howard was such an important British artist and will be a loss to the art world.

I first came across his work in auction and loved the beach scenes that I saw quite often.

As a collector I need to own a piece of work to really get into the artists brain and know how he constructs the painting.

His talent for light and shadows was second to none and this sparked my interest in his work.

After buying many Ken Howard's over the years, in my opinion, some of the best pieces are his studio works with various sitters.

His use of light through the studio window is a master at work, and for me is the main reason I love his work.

He had some very reputable solo exhibitions at Richard Green in London, as well as far a field in Cape Town and Johannesburg with the Everard Read Gallery.

He also has works in some of the most prestigious public collections.

He sadly passed away on the 11th of September and will be missed by art lovers all over the world....A true master of light and colour.

If anyone would like any further information about Ken Howards work please drop me a line.
