Yesterday at Dreweatts with an estimate of 30-50k this superb Mother and Child sculpture by Henry Moore in Lead made £320,000 plus premium making it just on 400k.
Just shows how 20th century art is doing extremely well.
This sculpture wasn't on its own in that sale, what I would call average but a very nice work by Dame Elizabeth Frink made well above the 15-25k estimate, ending at £43750 including premium.
I certainly feel Frink has a long way to go and one to have in any collection
