Written by biographer and journalist June Rose with Theodore’s daughter Mary, the book takes us on a wonderful journey back through the formative years of this very significant but often under-appreciated artist. From his humble beginnings in Wigan, Lancashire, to his reclusive later years and ongoing stubborn refusal to publicly exhibit or sell the vast majority of his works, it is full of fascinating stories about his life.
 
A large number of full colour paintings are reproduced in the book, punctuated by quotes from the painter himself that help to further our understanding of the inspiration and meaning behind his work.
