This beautiful book, with words and plates provided by Theodore Major's daughter,  Dr Mary Major, is a wonderful introduction to the life and works.
Mary gives a touching insight into her father's early life and their time as a family at her grandparent's home then later in Appley Bridge.
Art works are accompanied by quotes from art critics, friends and often Theo himself, bringing then to life by putting them in a wider context or showing how the artist himself wanted the work to be appreciated.
