“Painting is my life and my religion.” So begins this rare book on the painter Theodore Major. The self-published book by his daughter, Mary Gaskell (now Dr Mary Major) is in two sections: the first pages are about her father’s life, while the later pages have over 100 black and white photos of his paintings. 
 
This book gives a fascinating insight into his life and influences, with the story told by someone who knows more than anyone about the artist. Mary shares a personal understanding of the great painter that illuminates our understanding of the man and his work.
