MOORE, HENRY

1831-1895

Henry Moore was a watercolourist and marine painter. He was the son of William Moore and elder brother of Albert Joseph Moore. Henry studied under his father and at the York School of Design and also at the Royal Academy schools. At first he painted landscapes and rural scenes but in about 1857 he turned to marine paintings, for which he is best known
