Born in Yorkshire 1923 but brought up in North West Scotland. Studied at Glasgow School of Art and under James Wright at Garelochhead and now lives in Wales. He has exhibited at the leading London Galleries, Royal Cambrian Academy, Galleries Racines, Brussels, Fosse Gallery & Thackeray Gallery. Subjects include continental street scenes and West Scotland Landscapes, in a strong post-impressionist style which shows the influence of 20th Century Scottish artist from Cadell through to Redpath and Philipson and Michie. His paintings are in the collections of H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh, Williamson Art Gallery, Newport Art Gallery, Welsh Arts Council, National Library of Wales, Welsh Contamporary Art Society, Anglesey & Caernarvonshire Education Authorities, University of Wales, Dapartment of the Environment, British Steel Co, U.S.A Embassy, London and London University.
