Chris Swann was born in Dukinfield, Cheshire on Christmas Day 1945. He attended art school from 1959 to 1962. He says " This was a marvellous time for me - working alongside likeminded people. I was taught to paint and draw in the classical sense, before concentrating on the complexities of commercial art, illustration and cartooning"
Even though he spent most of his working life in the commercial art sector, he never lost his desire to paint and he would take every opportunity to pursue it.
In 2008, he embarked on an exciting new style of semi-abstract cartoon influenced work, using strong vivid colours. These paintings are rapidly growing in interest and popularity.
